The Little Things

Too often, divers want to see the big-ticket items on their dives—turtles, sharks, octopus, green moray eels, eagle rays, stingrays. Anyone can see a turtle or a shark, but you have to really spend time looking for the little things that inhabit the reef. When you find these little things, it turns a ho-hum dive into a great one!

Tucked under a ledge on a huge reef between La Francesca and Dalila, we spotted this Red Banded Shrimp.
This Bicolor Damselfish calls Palancar Gardens home. In the deep blue sea, this four-inch fish is certainly not the smallest.

This Bristle Worm also calls Palancar Gardens his home. This one is about four inches long and was literally hanging off some coral. He looks so soft and furry. But don't touch! His other name is Fire Worm.
