Diving Into Blue

All sharks are feared. I really don’t know why. Not all sharks are created equal. Of course, I certainly wouldn’t want to meet up with a great white in some dark alley. No thanks!

But the nurse sharks we see in Cozumel seem too sweet. They certainly are graceful, fluid, beautiful, and silent. These sharks, no matter how big, stay far away from divers. They just aren’t interested.

We found this nurse shark under a ledge at Palancar Bricks. He was trying to take a nap, and we bothered him. We didn’t spend too much time snapping his picture; we didn’t want to invade his personal space.

Although he might have been perturbed, he didn’t take it out on us. He just tried to get away by burrowing deeper under the ledge.
