Punta Sur Cathedral

Punta Sur Cathedral is still the best dive ever!

A giant stride starts our journey. We head down to the sandy bottom and the nearest coral head--80 feet below the surface. We weave slowly in and out of the caverns. It's always such a quiet and peaceful dive. Just the sound of our relaxed breathing. And no one around but the three of us and lots of fish!

I keep an eye out along the edges of the reef, on the lookout for red banded shrimp and arrow crabs. Seems that the arrow crabs are plentiful but the shrimp are scarce.
And just before we enter the last cavern, the Cathedral, Pingo makes sure we have enough air to get through the last bit of our journey.

Then, a few short minutes and we're through--we've hit 105 feet. Time to slowly head back to the surface.
We'll dive Cathedral another day!
